Chartered Society of Physiotherapists

The CSP supports those who deliver physiotherapy care, education and research through professional, educational and trade union services, as well as campaigning on behalf of the profession.

CSP deliver tailored services to over 49,000 practising physiotherapists, support workers, students, overseas and retired members via offices in every UK region.

Founded in 1894, the Society is member-led and governed by an elected Council.

Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sport Medicine

The ACPSM is a clinical interest group recognised by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy representing Chartered Physiotherapists who have an interest and involvement in sports physiotherapy.

Founded in 1972, it has representatives on many sports medicine committees including the British Olympic Association, UKSport, International Federation of Sports Physiotherapists and the World Federation of Athletic Trainers and Therapists. The ACPSM is also part of the Inter-professional Forum with BASEM and BASES.

Membership of the ACPSM is open to ALL chartered physiotherapists and students with an interest in sport and a pre-registration qualification in Physiotherapy.

PhysioFirst

Physio First was launched in 1952 to promote the highest standards of clinical practice in physiotherapy. The organisation helps the general public find highly qualified physiotherapists and to ensure that all practitioners, as members, have full access to training, latest news and continue in their professional development.

BASRaT

The British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers

BASRaT’s mission is to represent the professionals working in the field of sports and exercise based injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, to ensure the highest standard of healthcare for the physically active in the United Kingdom. This is to be achieved through accredited graduate level courses, and a continuing education programme of the highest quality.

BASRaT represents its members’ interests nationally and internationally, and through its influence gains appropriate recognition for its members, provides malpractice and professional indemnity insurance and other benefits befitting sports medicine practitioners.

Health Professions Council

HPC is an independent, UK-wide regulator who were set up to protect the public. They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards for their training, professional skills, behaviour and health.
